Body

COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as this non-financial Transfer Agreement (Agreement) does not include any associated costs. Each facility will be responsible for billing the applicable third-party payors for the costs associated with patient care provided at the respective facilities.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Approval of the Agreement with View Behavioral Health-Colton II LLC (VBH), a psychiatric health facility, will allow Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) to accept transfers of patients from VBH when a physician determines that a patient requires a higher level of medical care than can be provided at the VBH facility.

The Agreement outlines the responsibilities of VBH and ARMC for coordinating patient transfers, including physician documentation, patient consent when required, transportation, and the exchange of medical information to support continuity of care. The Agreement also establishes procedures for ARMC to evaluate and accept appropriate transfer requests in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.

ARMC recommends approval of this Agreement to help ensure patients requiring a higher level of care are transferred in a timely and coordinated manner to receive appropriate medical services.

PROCUREMENT
