BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter.

On May 23, 2023 (Item No. 7), the Board approved Employment Contract No. 23-431 (CON 23-431) to engage Desiree Ramirez to provide support services as an Intern Staff Assistant I for the Fifth District.

On March 24, 2026 (Item No. 11), the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to CON 23-431, to add provisions governing when a new employment contract or amendment is required, amending the term of the contract, and adding Special Assignment Compensation, with no other changes to CON 23-431.

Recommendation No. 1 will terminate the existing CON 23-431, effective June 26, 2026, which requires four votes per Section 210 of the County Charter and the termination provisions within this contract.
