Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 2 to Employment Contract No. No. 25-804 with Ashley N. Cordova, to continue to provide support services to the Third District Supervisor and First District Supervisor, as a Supervisors Executive Aide I, adding the Auto Allowance benefit pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the San Bernardino County Exempt Group Working Conditions Ordinance, effective May 16, 2026, for an estimated annual cost of $84,945 (Salary - $46,530, Benefits - $38,415).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the recommendation will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost for the Auto Allowance benefit will be funded by the Third District. Sufficient appropriation exists within the Third District’s 2025-26 budget to fund the costs related to the employment contract amendment and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter.
On October 7, 2025 (Item No. 4), the Board approved Employment Contract No. 25-804 (Contract) with Ashley Cordova, to provide support services for the Third District Supervisor and First District Supervisor as a Supervisors Executive Aide I, effective October 4, 2025.
On March 24, 2026 (Item No. 10), the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to the Contract, to add provisions governing when a new employment contract or amendment is required, amending the term of the contract, and adding Special Assignment Compensation, with no other changes to the Contract.
The recommended Amendment No. 2 to the Contract would add the Auto Allowance benefit to be fully funded by the Third District, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the San Bernardino County Exempt Group Working Conditions Ordinance, effective May 16, 2026, as this is the first day of the closest pay period to Board meeting.
Either party may terminate the contract at any time without cause with a 14-day prior written notice to the other party. The Contract may be terminated for just cause immediately by the County.
