RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Accept the Grant Award and approve the Agreement (Grant Award Agreement No. 240296) with Tulare County Office of Education, for the California Friday Night Live Partnership, supporting the Social Emotional Learning project, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, for the contract period from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total funding amount of $150,000 from the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE), California Friday Night Life Partnership (CFNLP), does not require a local match. Approval of the necessary adjustments to the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2023-24 budget is not requested at this time but will be included on a future Countywide budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval, if necessary.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The CFNLP Social Emotional Learning (SEL) project is designed to reach out to children at elementary through high schools, and teen centers providing SEL, mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, school-wide events, clubs, before and after school programs, and educational presentations for school staff.

Outreach is hosted by CFNLP staff during on-campus recruitment activities, including games and engagement activities held during lunch periods at the schools. SEL project activities will be ongoing ...
