RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 2, effective February 11, 2020, to County Revenue Contract No. 19-457 (State Revenue Agreement No. AP-1920-20) with the California Department of Aging, for Area Plan services, increasing the total contract amount by $1,429,888, from $7,771,071 to $9,200,959, and updating Exhibits A, B and E, with no change to the contract period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $1,429,888 for Area Plan (AP) services is 100% State allocated from the California Department of Aging (CDA). Approval of the necessary budget adjustments to the Department of Aging and Adult Services' (DAAS) 2019-20 budget is not requested at this time, but will be included on a future quarterly countywide budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Federal Older Americans Act (OAA) promotes the welfare and dignity of older adults by providing valuable services in order to enable older adults to be independent, remain in their communities, and assist them to be engaged citizens. In 1976, the State of California designated the County of San Bernardino as an Area Agency on Aging. As a result of this designation, DAAS receives funding to administer AP services.
