Contract with Hardy Diagnostics for the Purchase of Lab Testing Supplies

RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve contract (Quote No. Q-48622), from Hardy Diagnostics, including non-standard terms, for the provision of purchasing lab testing supplies used to test bacterial and fungal human pathogens, in a total amount not-to-exceed $90,000, for the period of September 10, 2024 through September 9, 2026, with $45,000 being allocated annually.
2. Authorize the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, the Chief Executive Officer, or the Director of the Department of Public Health to accept and execute any subsequent non-substantive amendments including change orders related to Hardy Diagnostics on behalf of the County, subject to review by County Counsel.
3. Direct the Director of the Department of Public Health to transmit all non-substantive amendments in relation to Hardy Diagnostics, to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost will not exceed $45,000 annually for the lab testing supplies and is funded from Medi-Cal, fee-for-service, and 1991 Realignment funding. Adequate appropriation and revenue has been included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2024-25 recommended budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
