Recommendation
Approve contract with Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center for the provision of electroconvulsive treatment services, in an amount not to exceed $1,237,500, for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total amount of $1,237,500 ($247,500 annually) for the provision of electroconvulsive treatment (ECT) services is funded by the Mental Health Services Act and 1991 Realignment. Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the Department of Behavioral Health's (DBH) 2022-23 recommended budget and in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
DBH is responsible for providing mental health, alcohol, and substance use disorder services to San Bernardino County residents who are experiencing major mental illness, substance use disorder, and other addictions. An integral part of the service delivery system consists of County operated and contracted service providers delivering a variety of mental health treatment services.
The recommended contract with Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center (LLUBMC) will provide ECT services to patients authorized by DBH, including physician services staff, anesthesiologists, recovery nurses, and outpatient treatment facility staff.
