RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve grant award agreement (Grant Agreement No. PH-2223-20) from the California Department of Aging for the Public Health Workforce Program funding to expand the public health workforce within the aging and disability networks, in the amount of $117,915 for the period of January 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The grant award in the amount of $117,915 from the California Department of Aging (CDA) for the Public Health Workforce Program funding does not require a local match. The Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) will utilize the funding to support the program goals of recruiting, hiring, and training of public health workers to respond to future public health challenges, including those associated with the need for vaccinations. Approval of the necessary budget adjustments to the DAAS 2023-24 budget is not requested at this time but will be included on a future quarterly budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board).
