Approve Agreement with Next Gen Neuro, LLC for remote real-time electroencephalography monitoring and related services, in the not-to-exceed amount of $2,625,000, for the period of October 27, 2024 through October 26, 2029.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $2,625,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2024-25 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Agreement with Next Gen Neuro, LLC (Next Gen) will allow ARMC to meet the needs of patients requiring ongoing continuous brain monitoring for seizures and other serious brain disorders. Next Gen provides real time remote "off-site" electroencephalography (EEG) wave monitoring and clinical record notations by registered EEG technologists. This service is needed to prevent the transfer of patients to other facilities, which delays critical patient care, when the continuum of care requires continuous brain monitoring.
