Recommendation
Approve an Agreement with Sanofi Pasteur, Inc., including non-standard terms, for the purchase of influenza vaccines in an amount not-to-exceed $350,000, effective May 7, 2024 through December 31, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $350,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in the 2024-25 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Agreement will allow ARMC to ensure county residents have access to the influenza (flu) vaccine. Sanofi Pasteur, Inc. (Sanofi) is able to provide vaccine doses through the Vizient Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), which provides discounted group pricing. Sanofi is the only vendor that accepts additional vaccines orders following the initial order, as needed, and allows for the return of unused vaccines for a rebate credit. These flu vaccines are provided to patients, including children six months of age and older, adults of any age, and staff, to prevent infection and spread of the flu virus within the hospital and community.
