RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Revenue Contract No. 21-628 (State Revenue Agreement No. MI-2122-20), with the California Department of Aging for Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act services, updating Exhibit B - Budget Display, and Exhibit D - Special Terms and Conditions and increasing the amount by $9,045, from $99,837 to $108,882, with no change to the contract period of September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $9,045 for Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) services is funded by federal revenue allocated to the California Department of Aging (CDA). Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) 2021-22 budget and will be included in the 2022-23 recommended budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The State Revenue Agreement No. MI-2122-20 from CDA allows DAAS to provide health insurance counseling and advocacy for Medicare beneficiaries and community education throughout San Bernardino County (County). CDA administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities throughout the State.
