RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 2 to contracts with the following agencies, to provide Kinship Support Services Program services, increasing the total combined contract amount by $708,750, from $2,674,366 to $3,383,116, and extending the term by one year, for a total contract period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027:
1. Greater Hope Foundation for Children, Inc. dba A Greater Hope, Contract No. 22-476, increasing the contract by $311,850, from $1,177,102 to $1,488,952.
2. Westside Christian Center, Contract No. 22-477, increasing the contract by $396,900, from $1,497,264 to $1,894,164.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase in cost of these amendments is $708,750 and funding is 100% provided by the 2011 Realignment. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Human Services Administrative Claim 2026-27 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) provides an array of community-based family support services to kinship families to increase the placement stability and safety of children who are in the care of relatives. Research suggests that extended family members have had an informal role in the upbringing of related children.
