RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, approve Amendment No. 1, retroactively effective July 1, 2024, to non-financial Mutual Aid Agreement No. 19-402 with the City of Riverside, amending mutual aid and general provisions, and extending the term for an additional five-year period, for a total contract term of July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2029.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of Amendment No. 1 (Amendment) to Mutual Aid Agreement No. 19-402 (Agreement) will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as it is a non-financial agreement that defines the responsibilities of the two entities regarding mutual aid response.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
SBCFPD has numerous automatic aid/mutual aid agreements with local, state, and federal agencies. These agreements render an improved level of services by allowing one party to assist the other party by providing personnel, equipment, materials/supplies, and other services, as needed, for emergency incidents.
