Recommendation
Approve a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding with the House of Ruth, Inc. to provide office space for a contracted domestic abuse counselor to perform services at the Transitional Assistance Department office in Rancho Cucamonga, for the period of November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is non-financial; therefore, it does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Under the terms of recommended MOU, the Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) will provide office space in the Rancho Cucamonga TAD office to one domestic abuse counselor from House of Ruth, Inc. House of Ruth, Inc. is a current contractor providing critical domestic abuse intervention and shelter services to victims of domestic abuse, and their children, throughout the County.

Some of services to be provided at the Rancho Cucamonga TAD office under this MOU include arranging temporary shelter for those who need to immediately vacate their homes for safety reasons; arranging outreach services, which may include domestic abuse awareness; education, and life skills classes; and providing referrals to existing services in the community, such as medical care, legal assistance, and Welfare-to-Work activities, to enable the customer to obtain unsubsidized employment as they move toward self-sufficiency.
