Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The amended increase in cost of $524,083 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Amendment will allow ARMC to continue to utilize Sophos Limited (Sophos) software licenses currently provided by CDW Government LLC, a division of CDW Corporation (CDW-G) that include technical support that provide endpoint protection to all ARMC’s personal computers and servers. The products provide tools to improve cybersecurity by identifying malware and other unwanted applications. These licenses and technical support identify web threats and malicious behavior and notify ARMC’s Security Team in order to mitigate any potential threat to ARMC’s network.
On September 7, 2021, ARMC purchased the Sophos software licenses and support through Contract No. 4400017963 with reseller CDW-G, by a quotation executed in the total amount of $713,656.50 for a three-year period from September 7, 2021 through September 6, 2024. The contract included, as an attachment, a non-financial End User License Agreement (EULA) with Sophos for software licenses and technical support, for the contract period of September 21, 2021 through September 20, 2026.
This item recommends approval of an additional purchase of the Sophos software licenses and technical support for the remaining term of the Sophos EULA from CDW-G under the CDW-G Terms and Conditions Sales and Service Projects Agreement.
ARMC recommends approval of the Amendment, as the continued Sophos software licenses and technical support will provide for the safety and health needs of County by providing tools to improve cybersecurity by identifying malware and other unwanted applications.
