RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective March 1, 2022, to non-financial student internship Agreement No. 20-878 with University of Medicine and Health Sciences - St. Kitts for training and field experience of student interns with the Department of Behavioral Health, to add additional language allowing third-year medical students' participation in the student internship program, with no change to the agreement period of September 15, 2020 through June 30, 2024.

The amendment to the student internship program agreement is non-financial; therefore, this item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The non-financial student internship Agreement No. 20-878 with the University of Medicine and Health Sciences - St. Kitts (UMHS) currently allows training and field experience for fourth-year medical students into core and/or elective Psychiatry clinical rotations that meet university program requirements with the Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). Upon approval of the recommended amendment, DBH will allow third-year medical students' participation in the student internship program.
