RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Adopt Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1904 by adding one new position, incorporating a technical title change for one position, and moving 11 positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service, which was introduced on June 13, 2023, Item No. 99:
1. Add the position number for the Assistant Director of Children and Family Services position (Position No. 56812) to the Unclassified Service of the County.
2. Incorporate a technical title change from Assistant Director of Real Estate Services to Chief of Facilities Management (Position No. 86241).
3. Move the following positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County: Peer & Family Advocate (Position Nos. 55339, 55554, 55871, 82874, 55873, 83859, 55862, 55863, 55864).
4. Move the position number for the Assistant Director of Public Health position (Position No. 56392) to the Unclassified Service of the County.
5. Move the position number for the Chief Deputy Treasurer (Position No. 17726) from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The adoption of the ordinance will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation is included in all impacted department budgets for 2023-24 and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Ordinance 1904 of San Bernardino County, State of California describes the positions in Unclassified Service and was introduced to the Board of Supervisors (Board) on June 13, 2023, as Item No. 99. The recommendation before the Board is to adopt the ordinance.
The ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1904 includes adding Position No. 56812 for the Assistant Director of Children and Family Services position to the Unclassified Service of the County; incorporating a technical title change for Position No. 86241 from Assistant Director of Real Estate Services to Chief of Facilities Management; moving the following positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County: Peer & Family Advocate, Position Nos. 55339, 55554, 55871, 82874, 55873, 83859, 55862, 55863, and 55864; moving Position No. 56392 for the Assistant Director of Public Health position to the Unclassified Service of the County; and moving Position No. 17726 for the Chief Deputy Treasurer from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County.
