RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve the purchase of a Ford Police Utility Vehicle from Fairview Ford to transport a Victim Advocate K9 Handler and their assigned facility dog, as an unbudgeted fixed asset, in the amount of $67,166.
2. Approve the purchase of a chilled water-cooling system for the server room located at 303 W. 3rd Street, San Bernardino, as an unbudgeted fixed asset, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.
3. Authorize the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post the appropriation adjustments to the District Attorney's 2023-24 budget, as detailed in the Financial Impact section (Four votes required).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The District Attorney (Department) will use salary and benefit savings of $67,166 from vacant positions to purchase the Ford Police Utility Vehicle. The positions are funded by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) County Victim Services (XC) Grant. The Department has received approval from Cal OES to use savings from vacant XC positions to purchase a vehicle for the K9 handler who is also funded by the XC Grant.
The Department will use savings of $15,000 from budgeted equipment for Cisco servers for a chilled water-cooling system (cooling system) for its server room at its San Bernardino office.
