FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the Affiliation Agreement (Agreement) with United States University (USU) is non-financial in nature.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a university-affiliated teaching hospital, and a key component of its mission is to provide education to students in a variety of disciplines. ARMC has established numerous agreements with universities, colleges, junior colleges, and technical and trade schools to provide on-site clinical training for students. This clinical training is necessary for students to obtain their degrees, licenses, and/or certifications.

The Agreement with USU will allow nursing students to obtain clinical training at ARMC. The volume and patient mix at ARMC will provide a comprehensive educational opportunity, ensuring that students gain vital skills needed to develop into a competent healthcare workforce. This Agreement also supports ARMC's commitment to ensuring the delivery of medical care to its patients while strengthening the future pool of healthcare specialists in the region.
