BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District (BBVRPD) manages and operates Ranch Park, an important recreational facility for the community. To expand program capacity and support childcare services, two modular buildings have been placed on the site.
BVP, a local corporation, has been a long-time supporter of BBVRPD. BVP has performed numerous paid projects for BBVRPD parks and the Big Bear Alpine Zoo over the years and offered to provide the essential infrastructure needed to make these buildings operational as a way to give back to the community and support the continued operation of the Ranch Park facilities. The donation includes in-kind services consisting of installation of full electrical service and repairing and extending sewer lines to connect the two modular units to existing systems.
In accordance with County Policy 06-01 and Standard Practice 06-01SP, Board approval is required for the acceptance of gifts or donations exceeding $10,000. Approval of Recommendation No. 1 will formally accept the in-kind donation from BVP, valued at $34,087, to Ranch Park.
