RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve a funding increase to Contract No. 21-755 with OpenText, Inc. in the amount of $250,000 increasing the total approved amount from $100,000 to $350,000, for utilization of a cloud service to send facsimile documents from desktop computers, with no change to the contract term of October 4, 2021 through October 3, 2026, thereafter automatically renewing for one-month periods until terminated by either party.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $250,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The funding increase will allow ARMC to continue sending facsimile (fax) documents from desktop computers through the services provided by Open Text, Inc.'s (Open Text) RightFax solution (RightFax), an automated document delivery system, which integrates most desktop and business applications to maximize employee productivity, improve information security, and decrease paper-related costs and security risks from stand-alone fax machine...
