Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 7 to Contract No. 89-911, the Basin Transit (formerly Morongo Basin Transit Authority) Joint Powers Agreement, between the County, City of Twentynine Palms and Town of Yucca Valley to allow the Basin Transit governing board to set by resolution any compensation for its board members to attend board meetings.

Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Amendment No. 7 (Amendment) to Contract No. 89-911, the Basin Transit (formerly Morongo Basin Transit Authority) Joint Powers Agreement, (Agreement) is non-financial in nature.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Basin Transit is a joint powers authority that was initially formed to include the County and the City of Twentynine Palms. Its purpose was to provide public transportation to the Morongo Basin. The County approved the Agreement that created the Morongo Basin Transit Authority with the City of Twentynine Palms on October 16, 1989 (Item No. 39).
