RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 3, effective July 1, 2021, to non-financial Memorandum of Understanding No. 16-164 with the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino for the Veterans Housing Program, updating contractual language and extending the term one year, for the total agreement period of April 19, 2016 through June 30, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a non-financial, in-kind Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) provides intensive case management services in exchange for housing subsidies for the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino's (HACSB) Veterans Housing Program.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
HACSB's Veterans Housing Program is an initiative whose goal is to ensure there are no homeless veterans living on the street or in emergency shelters in San Bernardino County. The Veterans Housing Program, administered by HACSB, provides permanent housing subsidies with supportive services to homeless individual veterans and homeless veteran family households. The amendment to the MOU for the Veterans Housing Program will allow HACSB to continue working with DBH and other veterans' services agencies to identify eligible households to access up to 60 subsidized permanent housing units.
