BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department operates and maintains eight regional parks within San Bernardino County. Approval of the recommended budget adjustments will primarily allow the Department to fund costs for unanticipated maintenance costs incurred by the San Bernardino County Special Districts Department for unexpected maintenance and repairs throughout the Regional Park System through the end of the fiscal year and increased landscaping services under a new contract that were higher than anticipated.
Approval of this recommended budget adjustment aligns with the County and Chief Executive Officer goal and objective to operate in a fiscally-responsible and business-like manner by allowing the Department to utilize existing savings to support park maintenance and development.
