Parking Restrictions for Commercial Vehicles on Various Roads in the Rosena Ranch Community

RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Adopt a Resolution that:
1. Establishes a "No Parking" zone of commercial vehicles having a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating exceeding 10,000 pounds, pursuant to County Code ? 52.0128(a), on Sycamore Creek Drive and Clearwater Parkway and all adjacent local streets in the Rosena Ranch Community.
2. Directs the County Road Commissioner to place appropriate signs specifying applicable prohibitions on such streets or entrances to the limited access residential communities thereof and to perform such acts as are necessary to implement the terms of the Resolution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The estimated cost of $1,000 to install the appropriate signs, as well as minor administrative costs to update the Department of Public Works (Department) records, will be financed by Gas Tax revenue. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Department's 2023-24 Road Operations budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The homeowner's association (HOA) and California Highway Patrol (CHP) in the Rosena Ranch area expressed concerns regarding commercial vehicle and truck parking on the streets within the community, creating a nuisance and safety concerns to the residents.
