RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 23-293 with Steris Corporation, for offsite sterile processing services, increasing the contract amount by $350,000 from $250,000 to $600,000, and extending the term by three months, for a total term of April 25, 2023 through July 24, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $350,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in the 2024-25 recommended budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Amendment No. 1 (Amendment) to Agreement No. 23-293 (Agreement) with Steris Corporation (Steris) will allow ARMC to increase the utilization of sterile processing services in support of the hospital's Sterile Processing Department (SPD). The services include, but are not limited to: cleaning, decontamination, assembly and sterilization of medical grade instruments and surgical instrument trays.
