RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Find that allowing the use of San Bernardino County vehicles, medical equipment, and supplies for San Bernardino County public safety employees participating in the 2024 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay will serve the purpose of promoting employee morale through camaraderie, physical fitness, teamwork and competition in the law enforcement community.
2. Approve the use of San Bernardino County vehicles, medical equipment and supplies for the 2024 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay for the period of March 23 through March 24, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Costs associated with the 2024 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay (Event) are expected to be minimal and are included in each participating department's 2023-24 budget. All County employees participating in this Event will be participating on their own time and not compensated for participation in the Event.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Event, hosted by the Los Angeles Police Revolver and Athletic Club, Inc., is a 120-mile relay event from Baker, California to Las Vegas, Nevada for law enforcement agencies throughout the United States and Canada.
