RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, terminate the finding first made by the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District Board of Directors on May 20, 2025, that there was substantial evidence that found the termination of the agreement between Buckskin Fire District and the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District created an emergency pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22035 and 22050, requiring immediate action to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, health, property and essential public services.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The action to terminate this emergency will not require the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the Fire Station 21 Modular Acquisition Project (Project) (WBSE 10.10.1850) budget of $1,033,215 was funded with available reserves from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District's (SBCFPD) South Desert Regional Service Zone. As part of Project closeout, a $45,000 credit was received from West Coast Renovations and Improvements, Inc. (WCR), reducing their original contract value to a total revised contract value of $362,049 which includes an allowance of $20,000 for installation of the generator t...
