Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the Bloomington Recreation and Park District, approve the renaming of the snack bar at Kessler Park to the Escoto Family Snack Shack.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of the renaming, estimated to be $13,200, will be funded with the remaining funds from the Kessler Park Picnic Table Project (6250003166), which were allocated by the Board of Supervisors on March 12, 2024 (Item No. 52).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department of Public Works - Special Districts, through the Operations Division, directly manages, operates and maintains the Bloomington Recreation and Park District, including Kessler Park.
The snack bar and restroom building at Kessler Park, originally built in 1972, has served generations of Bloomington families. Over the years, it has been adapted and improved to meet the needs of the community, with Bloomington Little League (BLL) as its current tenant.
For nearly a decade, Edgar and Teresa Escoto (Escotos) have been at the heart of BLL's success and community spirit. As longtime residents of Bloomington for 28 years, the Escotos have dedicated themselves to serving local youth and families through BLL.
