RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Adopt Resolution to establish a "No Parking of Vehicles/Tow-Away Zone" pursuant to County Code Section 52.0132(a):
a. Along the north side of Glen Helen Parkway from the I-15 southbound off-ramp, west for a distance of 1,550 feet, in the Lytle Creek area
b. Along the south side of Glen Helen Parkway from the I-15 southbound off-ramp, west for a distance of 1,350 feet, in the Lytle Creek area.
2. Direct the County Road Commissioner to perform such acts as necessary to implement the terms of the Resolution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The proposed resolution will not result in significant costs to the Department of Public Works (Department). The minor administrative costs to update Department records and the cost to install and maintain signage for the "No Parking of Vehicles/Tow-Away Zones" are minimal and will be funded by Gas Tax Revenue. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Department's 2021-22 Road Operations budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Subsequent to complaints raised by concerned residents and law enforcement, the Department conducted a traffic engineering investigation on Glen Helen Parkway in the Lytle Creek area. Glen Helen Parkway is a major highway with a wide graded dirt shoulder that exists on both sides of the roadway.
