Recommendation
Approve Agreement with the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, for the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program for patrol operations at the Colorado River, in the amount of $412,661, for the period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The agreement with the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW), through its Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program (Financial Aid Program), in the amount of $412,661, will help offset the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) 2025-26 estimated cost of $1,100,588 to provide boating safety and enforcement activities at the Colorado River. The remaining estimated cost of $687,927 will be funded within the Department's 2025-26 recommended budget allocation.

Funding from the California Department of Parks and Recreation is contingent upon approval of the State's 2025-26 budget. If funding for this program is reduced, an equal portion will be deducted from every Financial Aid Program recipient. No matching funds are required.
