FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of the item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $65,001 (plus applicable taxes) is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act.

Budget adjustments are not requested at this time, as this unbudgeted fixed asset will be offset by budget savings from other budgeted fixed assets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this Quote from Mindray DS USA, Inc. (Mindray) will allow ARMC to purchase one TE X Plus Ultrasound System to allow resident physicians to train and receive instruction on how to utilize a bedside ultrasound system for diagnostic purposes. An ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to make an image of a person's internal body structures. Physicians commonly use ultrasound to study a person's abdominal and pelvic organs, muscles and tendons, or their heart and blood vessels.
