RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve the purchase of the following unbudgeted capital assets:
a. Eight Safety Vehicles - $400,000.
b. Four Off-Highway Vehicles - $98,500.
c. One Portable Training System - $184,802.
d. One Training Simulator - $298,248.
2. Authorize the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post adjustments to the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's 2025-26 budget, as detailed in the Financial Impact section (Four votes required).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator (Department) is requesting a $621,853 increase to Temporary Help - Outside Services, funded by the Citizens' Option for Public Safety (COPS) growth allocation to Detentions, to continue addressing vacancies within medical staff classifications.

Additionally, the Department is requesting an increase to Services and Supplies of $1.4 million for the purchase of non-inventoriable equipment, services, and supplies for various divisions, inflationary increases to technical services contracts and outstanding tax liabilities from previous aircraft purchases; an increase of $200,000 to Overtime to fund recruitment efforts; and an increase of $400,000 for the purchase of eight vehicles for the provision of law enforcement operations.
