BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department operates and maintains two museums and five historic sites across San Bernardino County. Due to several vacancies during the current fiscal year, including General Maintenance Worker and General Services Worker positions, the Department has experienced salary savings within its allocated personnel budget.
Approval of the recommended budget adjustments will allow the Department to utilize these savings to purchase 15 workstation laptops for Curatorial, Education, and Fiscal staff, replacing outdated computers currently in use. The funds will also support replacement of office furniture in the Earth Sciences, Biology, and Exhibits divisions, where existing furnishings are old, damaged, and no longer functional for daily operational needs.
