Recommendation
Approve Revenue Contract with the Child Care Resource Center, including a non-standard term, for funding in the minimum amount of $3,000 to support the Quality Start San Bernardino Program, for the period July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Revenue Contract with the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) provides funding in the minimum amount of $1,000 annually for the Preschool Services Department's (PSD) Early Head Start (EHS) - Home Based Program that is 100% State funded through the California Department of Education. PSD is not requesting adjustments to its 2024-25 budget at this time but may return to the Board of Supervisors to request such adjustments, if necessary. Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the 2025-26 recommended budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
PSD operates the EHS Program, which serves approximately 583 children through direct services throughout San Bernardino County. The program provides education, health, cognitive, social/emotional, physical growth and development, and parent-involvement services for children ages 0 to 5 years with the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in economically disadvantaged families.
