RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve Agreement with the State of California Department of California Highway Patrol to provide uniformed personnel with patrol vehicles for traffic control and enforcement related services throughout San Bernardino County unincorporated areas on an as-needed basis, for a total not-to-exceed amount of $180,000 retroactively effective March 1, 2023 through February 28, 2025.
2. Authorize the Director of the Department of Public Works to sign and submit the Agreement to the State of California Department of California Highway Patrol for traffic control and enforcement related services in San Bernardino County unincorporated areas on an as-needed basis.
3. Direct the Director of the Department of Public Works to transmit the fully executed Agreement to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works (Department) shall reimburse the State of California Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) in an amount not-to-exceed $180,000, for increased traffic control and enforcement services in San Bernardino County (County) unincorporated areas.
