FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the affiliation agreement with San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) on behalf of San Bernardino Valley College is non-financial in nature.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The recommended Affiliation Agreement with SBCCD will allow students enrolled in San Bernardino Valley College's Psychiatric Technology Program to obtain clinical training and experience at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC). The Psychiatric Technology Program at San Bernardino Valley College prepares students to take the California Psychiatric Technician licensing examination and become psychiatric technicians. County departments with in-patient Behavioral Health units, including ARMC, employ psychiatric technicians. Providing clinical sites for student training has been shown to be an effective way to recruit potential employees.
