RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to the following Contracts for the provision of vehicle safety equipment installation and removal services, increasing the total aggregate amount by $1,500,000, from $2,250,000 to a not to exceed amount of $3,750,000, and extending the contracts by two years, for a new contract period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026:
1. Contract No. 21-426 with 10-8 Retrofit, Inc., at a variable rate of $2,300 to $11,820 per installation, based upon vehicle type.
2. Contract No. 21-438 with West Coast Lights & Sirens, Inc., at a variable rate of $2,670 to $15,773 per installation, based upon vehicle type.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The aggregate annual contract amount of $750,000 for vehicle safety equipment installation and removal services will be funded within the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) 2024-25 budget (4430131000) and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department's Automotive Division acquires a combination of sedans, utility vehicles, prisoner transport vans, undercover vehicles, 4x4s, and off-highway vehicles for safety operations.
