Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 2 to Contract No. 15-151 with Running Springs Water District to allow the Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Management Division to treat and dispose of the landfill liquid collected at the Heaps Peak Disposal Site, on an as-needed basis, at the Running Springs Water District's treatment plant, exercising the second of two options to extend the term by five years, from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2030, with no change to the not to exceed amount of $750,000.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Management Division (SWMD) is funded with fee revenue. SWMD establishes fees that are charged to the public and other agencies for utilization of the County's Waste Disposal System. The County's current landfill liquid disposal contract with the Running Springs Water District (District) expires on June 30, 2025. The cost of the contract is estimated at $750,000 over 10 years. Sufficient appropriation and revenue for these services has been included in the SWMD 2025-26 Recommended Budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
