RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Revenue Agreement No. 19-367 with Network Providers, LLC, for the provision of medical services to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmates, correcting the term of the agreement for the five-year period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024.
(Presenter: William L. Gilbert, Director, 580-6150)
Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies and Stakeholders.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as costs related to medical care of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) inmates provided by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) will be reimbursed by Network Providers, LLC. This Agreement allows ARMC to bill for and be reimbursed for the services provided to CDCR inmates. The total reimbursement amount will be based on volume and type of services provided. Sufficient appropriation and revenue have been included in ARMC’s 2021-22 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of this agreement will allow ARMC to continue to bill and receive reimbursement for the provision of medical services provided to CDCR inmates at ARMC for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024.
On June 11, 2019 (Item No. 10), the Board approved Revenue Agreement No. 19-367 with Network Providers, LLC for the five-year term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024. However, the language in the Agreement erroneously indicated that the term was for a three-year period commencing July 1, 2019. This Amendment corrects the term of the Agreement to accurately reflect the five-year term, as specified in the June 11, 2019, Board Agenda Item.
Approval of the recommended amendment will provide for the safety, health, and social service needs of County residents by ensuring that CDCR inmates in need of emergency medical services continue to receive treatment at ARMC and will also further the goals and objectives of the County by collaborating with other agencies.
PROCUREMENT
Not applicable.
