FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as this item is non-financial in nature.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator (Sheriff) has significantly added to its personnel and resources since 2021. This includes, but is not limited to, adding additional Deputy Sheriffs, professional staff, and new positions in the Detentions and Corrections Bureau. Additionally, the Sheriff has implemented a new Wellness and Resilience Unit to support employee health and well-being; expanded and revamped its Internal Affairs Division to respond to legislative changes that have reshaped administrative investigation processes; and reorganized command staff to better meet the challenges of modern law enforcement and public safety.

The Sheriff is also making operational enhancements to streamline overall operations and to improve response times and community services to be better positioned to handle the complex and evolving demands of public safety, corrections, and administrative management.
