RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 24-629 with W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., for the consignment of medical devices, to include additional products and increasing the not-to-exceed amount by $971,200 from $1,296,983 to a total not-to-exceed amount of $2,268,183, with no change to the contract term of August 28, 2023 through August 27, 2027.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $971,200 will be funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Amendment with W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) will allow ARMC to maintain additional Gore stents (devices) and products, which were inadvertently omitted from the previous amendment, in ARMC's inventory, ensuring sufficient devices are available when needed. These devices are used in conjunction with other Gore products purchased by ARMC to open narrowed or blocked arteries and to restore blood flow to peripheral arteries.
