RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve the 2023-24 Physician Residency Program Master Employment Agreement for Arrowhead Regional Medical Center resident physicians in the following programs:
a. Cardiology Fellowship
b. Emergency Medicine
c. Emergency Medical Services Fellowship
d. Family Medicine
e. General Surgery
f. Internal Medicine
g. Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship
h. Neurology
i. Obstetrics/Gynecology
j. Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship
k. Psychiatry
l. Radiology
m. Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
2. Authorize the Director of Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to execute individual resident physician employment agreements on behalf of the County, pursuant to the 2023-24 Physician Residency Program Master Employment Agreement identified in Recommendation No. 1.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The annual cost of $16,047,756 associated with Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) residency programs is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, and reimbursements from local area hospitals participating resident curriculum. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue will be included in the ARMC's 2023-24 recommended budget.
