Adoption of an Amendment to Ordinance No. 1904 Updating Positions in the Unclassified Service

RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Adopt Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1904, by adding four new positions, moving four positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service, moving one position from Unclassified Service to Classified Service of the County, which was introduced on June 9, 2026, Item No.126:
1. Add the following new positions to Unclassified Service of the County: Legislative Assistant to Elected Official (Position No. 60016); Principal Administrative Analyst (Position No. 60021); Behavioral Health Medical Director (Position No. 60022); and Deputy Director of Behavioral Health Program Services (Position No. 60023).
2. Move the following positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County: Public Information Officer (Position No. 70619) and Administrative Analyst III (Position Nos. 57720, 89971, and 54759).
3. Move the following position from Unclassified Service to Classified Service of the County: Staff Analyst II (Position No. 82775).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The adoption of Ordinance No. 1904 (Ordinance) will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). This item represents the second reading and adoption of the Ordinance, formalizing the actions previously approved by the Board of Supervisors (Board) during the first reading.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Ordinance of San Bernardino County, State of California, describes the positions in Unclassified Service and was introduced to the Board of Supervisors (Board) on June 9, 2026, Item No.126. The recommendation before the Board is to adopt the Ordinance.
