Recommendation
Approve Exactamix Compounder Lease and Abacus Software License Agreement with Baxter Healthcare Corporation, including non-standard terms, to be used to formulate intravenous nutrition solutions, in the amount of $75,843.60, for the agreement term of November 1, 2024, through October 31, 2029.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total cost of $75,843.60 is funded by State Medi-Cal, federal Medicare, private insurance, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2024-25 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Agreement will allow ARMC to continue to utilize the Baxter Healthcare Corporation (Baxter) Exactamix Compounder (Compounder) equipment and Abacus software license for the accurate preparation of patient-specific total parenteral nutrition (TPN), also known as intravenous feeding, formulations for both adult and neonatal patients.
