RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 3, including non-standard terms, to Agreement No. 20-674 with Acumed, LLC, for Cranio Maxillofacial implants for surgical patients, updating contract language and extending the term by one year for a total term of August 25, 2020 through August 24, 2025, with no change to the not-to-exceed contract amount of $550,000.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $550,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2024-25 budget and will be included in the 2025-26 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Amendment with Acumed, LLC (Acumed) will extend the term of Agreement No. 20-674 (Agreement) to allow ARMC to continue to purchase skull and face implants (Cranio Maxillofacial implants) for certain surgical patients for an additional year. ARMC conducts elective and non-elective surgeries for its patients to repair the facial structure that has been severely damaged and requires reconstruction.
