Body

COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The proposed adjustment to the daily Assessment Appeals Board (AAB) stipend would increase the annual expenditure by approximately $2,475. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Clerk of the Board's 2019-20 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The proposed ordinance was introduced on July 23, 2019, Item 53. The recommendation before the Board of Supervisors today will adopt the ordinance on the Consent Calendar. The ordinance updates Chapter 6 of Division 3 of Title 1 relating to Assessment Appeals Board Member stipends. The intent of this amendment is to incentivize members to apply for and remain on the AAB as there has been some difficulty recruiting qualified candidates and retaining AAB members. This stipend increase would keep San Bernardino comparable to those paid by surrounding Southern California counties. Approval of the item will amend the County Code effective September 5, 2019.

PROCUREMENT
Not applicable.
