BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This revenue agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Measurement Standards (CDFA, DMS) will reimburse AWM for performing inspection services related to the Fuels, Lubricants and Automotive Products Program, for a maximum reimbursement of $28,800 from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.
This revenue agreement aligns with the County and Chief Executive Officer Goals and Objectives to Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies with respect to performing inspections for the Fuels, Lubricants and Automotive Products Program on behalf of CDFA, DMS and receiving reimbursement for the work performed.
AWM will continue a program to perform inspections of establishments that sell fuels, lubricants and automotive products (such as retail service stations and distributors of engine fuels) to determine compliance with appropriate provisions of the California Business and Professions Code and California Code of Regulations relating to the advertising and labeling of fuels, lubricants and automotive products, on behalf of the State. CDFA, DMS determined that these inspections should be performed by counties because of the widespread distribution of establishments offering fuels, lubricants and automotive products and services.
The Board first approved the initial revenue agreement with CDFA, DMS in 1988 to provide inspection services at locations throughout San Bernardino County and a revenue agreement has since been renewed on a continual annual basis.
On July 5, 2019, AWM received the State revenue agreement in the amount of $28,800, for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. This item is being presented to the Board at this time as this is the first date available for presentation following the required operational, fiscal and legal reviews. Approval at this time will have no impact on work performed for the Fuels, Lubricants and Automotive Products Program since July 1, 2019 as it will be reimbursed under this agreement.
