BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Probation Department’s (Probation) Gateway Program is an eighteen (18) month residential commitment program designed to provide innovative treatment and rehabilitative services to youth who are working toward family reintegration and emancipation readiness pursuant to California Senate Bill (SB) 81 and SB 191 of 2007.

Approval of this MOU will formalize a partnership between Young Visionaries and Probation to assist at-risk youth by delivering a National Curriculum and Training Institute (NCTI) intervention program targeted at gang-affiliated juveniles with an objective to provide teaching and counseling aimed at reducing gang affiliation and resistance to law enforcement.
