RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Terminate Employment Contract No. 12-977 and approve new Employment Contract with Pablo Kot to update contract language, increase the scope of work and salary for the continued provision of Chaplain services for the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, effective November 9, 2019 through November 8, 2022, for an estimated annual cost of $105,059 (Salary - $64,690; Benefits - $40,369).
2. Authorize the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, Undersheriff, or Assistant Sheriff to execute amendments to the contract to extend the contract term for a maximum of three successive one-year periods on behalf of the County, subject to County Counsel review.
3. Direct the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, Undersheriff, or Assistant Sheriff to transmit all amendments in relation to the contract to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The estimated annual cost for this employment contract is $105,059 (Salary - $64,690; Benefits - $40,369). This position is assigned to the Inmate Services Division (ISU) and is funded by the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department's) Inmate Welfare Fund. Sufficient appropriation is included in the Department's 2019-20 budget.
